125th anniversary of the Kunsthistorisches Museum / Art History Museum (2016)

Emperor Franz Joseph himself opened the museum on 17 October 1891. The extensive collection of the Habsburgs had finally found a place under one roof. The theme of the anniversary exhibition is “Festival Cultures” from the Middle Ages to the present day. Also, the museum has a special gift for its visitors: free entry for everyone who visits on their own birthday in 2016 (ID required).
