Monet bis Picasso. The Batliner Collection at Albertina

The Albertina is home to one of the most important European collections of classical modernist paintings: the Batliner Collection. The works contained therein represent the core holdings of the museum’s Permanent Collection.The exhibition shows a selection of over 100 pictures in a permanent exhibit: from the painting of French Impressionism, Pointillism and Fauvism with works by Monet, Renoir, Degas, Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec, Braque, Matisse, and Vlaminck to masterpieces of the expressionist artists’ groups Die Brücke and Der blaue Reiter including paintings by Kirchner, Kandinsky and Nolde, and on to numerous works by Pablo Picasso, this display presents all the revolutionary ideas of classical modernism.

Permanent exibition at this stage
