Summer 2015 in the city of Vienna: Bars, Restaurants, and Nightlife
Summer in Vienna is best enjoyed in the open air. Numerous bars and restaurants – above all on the Danube Canal – offer the perfect place to chill out, and shorten the warm summer nights.
Museums Quartier Vienna • Museumsplatz 1, 1070 Wien
Until the end of September, the inner courtyards of the MuseumsQuartier draws visitors with a boules area, cozy guest gardens, cool weekend sounds by DJs as well as the stylish MQ summer furniture to relax on. The weekend sounds will be expanded this year by live acoustic performances by bands. The Aquadrome also starts on 7 May and invites people to boat races in the water pond.
Badeschiff ▪ Donaukanal (Schwedenplatz – Urania), 1010 Wien
On the Badeschiff a few steps further along, an outdoor pool and refreshing drinks on the top deck are an attraction on hot summer days. On shore right opposite the Badeschiff there are Slow Tacos, Craft Beer and DJ sounds. Situated right alongside is the well-stocked wine bar “Pub Klemo am Wasser”.
Motto am Fluss ▪ Schwedenplatz 2, 1010 Wien
The Motto am Fluss at the mooring point of the Twin City Liner is another hot-spot, with every seat on the terrace hotly sought-after in summer. The outdoor area of the nearby Flex Café is also a crowd-puller in good weather.
Summer Stage ▪ Donaukanal, U4 Rossauer Lände, 1090 Wien
Upstream at the U4 subway station Rossauer Lände is the Summer Stage. Numerous restaurants and leisure offerings provide a mix of pleasure, sport and culture, as well as relaxed view of the water.
