Come and discover the Balaton region and Hévíz!
Lake Balaton, or as the Hungarians call, the “Hungarian Sea” is one of Hungary’s most precious treasures and most frequented resorts. It is also the largest lake in Central Europe. There are picturesque vineyards in the region producing an assortment of excellent wines. Siófok, Balatonfüred, Tihany, Badacsony, Keszthely and Hévíz are among the most significant settlements around the lake.
The Thermal Bath in Hévíz has been attracting visitors for more than two centuries. The Lake is covered with water-lilies and extends over an area of approximately 4,4 ha water surface. It is the second largest hot-water lake in the world, at a temperature of 24-38°C depending on the season. Open-air bathing is very pleasant even in winter. The thousands of years old turf bottom thermal lake is fed by the cold and warm sources rich in minerals found in the 38 meter deep source cave. The therapeutic effect of Hévíz thermal lake enables a wide range of uses both in terms of prevention and treatment.
